Once you enter your URL and click you are confronted with yahoo sign up page sign in using your Yahoo user id and password. This is where you get a confirmation that your url is added. Remember that unless you receive a confirmation the process is not complete.
On confirmation page notice the link at the top of your right hand side which says ‘My Sites’ click on this link, You are now being asked to add your site, enter your URL and click Add My Site upon doing this your url will appear in the box below, notice the status it says new with a button below saying authenticate. An authenticated site is more likely to be included than a non authenticated site.
When clicked the authenticate button will take you to Verification Page, There are 2 options for verifying. Option 1. To upload a verification file to your site::
Use the download button provided to save the file to your disk and upload it to your site without changing anything. If you have problem downloading copy paste the url provided on that page which looks something like this
http://www.yoursitename.com/y_key_somecodenumber.html
or
http://www.yoursitename.com/y_key_somecodenumber.html
save a html or htm file with this url as the file name as it is and upload it to your site. You are now Ready to authenticate click that button to complete the process.

Option 2. To add a Meta tag to your home page:
Copy the META tag listed on the page and paste it in your site's home page in the first section of the page, before the first section.It will look like this
